Every month, the government counts new jobs.

On Friday, it shared the numbers for October.

Employers added 165,000 jobs.

Experts expected only about 60,000.

In September, employers added about 60,000 jobs.

So October was much better.

The unemployment rate went down.

It fell from 4.2% to 4.1%.

The most new jobs were in health care.

Many were also in business services and shipping.

The government also changed its numbers for August and September.

It found 84,000 more jobs than it first counted.

Ryan Sweet is an economist.

He said the job market looks “solid.”

But he said some people still have a hard time finding work.

Prices are still going up faster than the government wants.
